Core Medical Solutions were notified as preferred vendor in December 2010 from Western Health's RFT - Scanned and Electronic Medical Record project.

The client-side Project Team took to the court in May 2011, and the agreed schedule of work was underway for a 6-month deployment of BOSSnet DMR incorporating Patient Lists and Results Review.

Cue: a side project to see the removal of the incumbent CIS system used for viewing pathology results across all WH sites, and a new contracted pathology provider with the understanding that clinicians would be using BOSSnet to view their investigation results.
Problem: a 6 week gap between CIS removal and schedulled BOSSnet Go-Live.
Solution: Within 4 weeks of identifying this problem, CMS had BOSSnet Results Review deployed with active and verified feeds from both incumbent and new providers, along with results from the radiology department and a link from each report to the images stored on the PACS.

The month of October saw final training sessions and interface configurations taking place before WH deployed their own BOSSnet DMR to the clinical environment across acute campuses at Footscray, Sunshine, Williamstown and Sunbury.  Further deployment of BOSSnet DMR will follow into the New Year across WH's Drug & Alcohol Service, Nursing Homes and North West Mental Health.

It is still early days, but clear gains have been made regarding access to records, searchability of documents and electronic replication of many paper trails throughout the hospitals.
